GAME & FLY FISHING
HISTORICALLY A PRIVILEGE reserved to gentry, we offer access and guided instruction for traditional game fishing (for species such as salmon and trout), as well a variety of contemporary fly fishing techniques for coarse fish (grayling, pike, perch, carp etc) and sea fish (bass, mullet, mackerel, pollack etc).
This can be done from bank, boat or kayak throughout most of the year and provides an excellent opportunity to access some of the more unique and highly prized fisheries in England and Wales.
In the UK, game fish are celebrated for the eating qualities, but a rapidly growing trend towards a 'catch and release' practice is often considered (or applicable by law), when targeting naturally occurring wild fish.
Fly fishing presents a very different skill set, approach and reward to the angler and is well suited to those who prefer to be mobile, active and challenged. We can provide casting advice and coaching, tackle advice, fly tying practice, guidance on fly choice, retrieve techniques, and guidance towards relevant environmental, ecological and entomological considerations.
